Despre balene şi alte...mamifere / About whales and other...mammals

Am vrut să scriu despre asta și apoi m-am răzgândit. M-am gândit la conceptul de marketing care spune că reclama negativă e tot promovare, dar am realizat că a scrie despre acest subiect nu înseamnă a-l susține în vreun fel. Iată-mă, așadar, aici: șocată și intrigată. Nu voi folosi glumele mele caracteristice, fiindcă acum e ceva serios. Nu am mai scris vreodată despre ceva atât de trist și sper să nici nu mai am ocazia s-o fac.

Mass-media vorbește numai despre acest joc în ultimele zile, astfel că nu mai e un secret pentru nimeni. E o nebunie generală produsă în rândul adolescenților și nu înțeleg cum s-a ajuns aici. Am citit fel şi fel de articole din presă pe subiect, chiar regulile macabre, însă nu văd de ce ar avea atâta succes. E de-a dreptul sinistră povestea și mă îndoiesc că e întreg la minte creatorul fenomenului. De ce ar profita cineva de problemele emoționale ale unor copii?

Vreau să cred că adolescenții români sunt inteligenţi și își dau seama cât de aiurea e totul. Nu trebuie să urmeze turma pentru a fi "cool" și nici să respecte un ritual impus pentru a descoperi o lume magică. Lumea în care trăim poate fi magică, totul e să ne străduim. Avem creier, să-l folosim!

Sinceră să fiu, nu sunt de părere că părinții ar trebui să le interzică pur și simplu copiilor să afle informații cu privire la asemenea "tendințe". Eu sunt adepta comunicării. Cred că o discuție logică i-ar determina pe copii să vadă că nu au motive să încerce așa ceva. Curiozitatea e normală atâta timp cât e ținută sub control.

Cât despre bietul mamifer... Nu merita să fie asociat cu așa ceva. E un animal frumos, special și, din păcate, pe cale de dispariție datorită omului. Lecția e una simplă: luptă pentru supraviețuire. Dacă tot iubești balenele, inscrie-te în vreo organizație care susține salvarea lor. Nu ai posibilitatea? Nu-i nimic, fii o balenă jucând acest joc. E mai amuzant decât cel mediatizat, crede-mă.

I wanted to write about it, and then I changed my mind. I thought about the concept of marketing that says that the negative advertisement is also a type of promotion, but I realized that writing about this topic does not mean to support it in any way. So here I am: shocked and intrigued. I will not use my characteristic jokes, because now it's serious. I have never written about something so sad and I hope I do not have the chance to do it again.

The media only talks about this game in recent days, so it's no secret to anyone. It's a general madness among adolescents and I do not understand how it got here. I've read some sort of press articles on the subject, even the macabre rules, but I do not see why it would be so successful. It's really a sinister story, and I really doubt about the mental health of the creator of this phenomenon. Why would anyone be taking advantage of the emotional problems of some children?

I want to believe that Romanian teenagers are intelligent and they realize how absurd all is. They do not have to follow the herd to be "cool" nor to respect a ritual imposed in order to discover a magical world. The world we live in can be magical, it's all about striving. We have brain, so let's use it!

Honestly, I do not believe that parents should simply forbid children to find out information about such "trends." I believe in communication. I think that a logical discussion would make the children see that they have no reason to try something like that. Curiosity is normal as long as it's under control.

As for the poor mammal ... It does not deserve to be associated with it. It is a beautiful, special animal and, unfortunately, endangered because of man. The lesson is a simple one: struggle for survival. If you still love whales, sign up for an organization that supports their salvation. Do you not have the possibility? It's nothing, be a whale by playing this game. It's more fun than the one from the press, trust me.
